Hobart's Most Stylish Racegoer - Daisy Ford
21 year old Daisy Ford can now legitimately claim to be Tasmania’s best-dressed racegoer after capturing the state title in the opening leg of the Myer National Fashions on the Field Competition.
Ford, from Devonport, beat a strong contingent of 75 entrants on AAMI Hobart Cup Day and in the process bagged a prize pool valued at over $10 000, including a nine day trip of a lifetime for two to the Melbourne Cup Carnival to compete in the National Final on Crown Oaks Day.
Ford’s standout outfit featured a black cropped jacket pleated from the waist, a handmade long textured white skirt and a structured hat from Statement Millinery in Cairns. Complimented by a pair of black patent leather pumps, a vintage black handbag, black gloves and pearl and diamond earrings, the ensemble proved a winner with the expert panel featuring Rebecca Twigley and fashion industry heavy hitters.
27 year old Jessica Coad, the inaugural Tasmanian state champion from 2007, was the first runner-up ahead of Virginia Pitt, 22.
